Because We Are Technologically Challenged But We Still Like Helping30 Mar 2009 04:24 pm

Because when we’re helping, we’re happy, and we sing as we go, for we love to help Tracy, for we all love her so.  Tra la la la la la, etc….

Ok, we have some LOVELY Google ads now.  BlogHer is not accepting new blogs, but as soon as they do, we are SO switching.  Anyway, for right now, all advertising revenue goes straight to our dear Tracy M., in an attempt to bring some revenue her way, and make her life less rock-filled.  So, if you’re looking for an easy way to help out Tracy, start clicking!!

Don’t be mad if some weird ads show up.  We are not in complete control, even though we would like to be.  We don’t know how to do really good ads, I guess.

More deep ponderings on the nature of the universe30 Mar 2009 03:42 pm

Have you ever noticed that temples and hospitals smell the same? I went to the hospital today for some routine tests, and as I walked in, I was met with the smell I always associate with the temple.  I immediately had that, “Oh, I’m entering sacred space” reverent feeling come upon me, only to remember that I wasn’t there to make covenants, but to get my kidneys imaged.  I suppose both could be considered revelatory experiences, though.

Perhaps they stock the same kind of soap?  (more…)

Deseret Book SOS!30 Mar 2009 01:58 pm

My parents are in UT this week seeing my nephew before he departs on his mission.  They called me from Deseret Book to see if there was anything I needed (or wanted!).  DB does not exist where I live nor do I get their catalog – the only time I’m on their website is to order Primary stuff for the kids.  I’m seeking DB recommendations!  Anything there that I can’t live without? (I’m thinking a book on tithing might be appropriate!)

Final Four Follow-up29 Mar 2009 06:00 pm

It’s been a disastrous tournament.  My bracket, which was near pristine coming out of the Sweet 16 (15 correct picks out of 16!), blew up over the weekend with the loss of EVERY one of my Final Four teams!  Even my alma mater, who bested my projections and made it to the Elite 8, utterly collapsed against the mighty Tar Heels.  My 3 yr old made better projections down the stretch than I did – he has TWO Final Four teams remaining.  Oh the humiliation!

I guess that’s why they call it MADNESS!

My new rallying call  – GO ‘NOVA!

I want to talk about tithing29 Mar 2009 09:17 am

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Mormon doctrine, we pay tithing.  That means that we pay our congregation, or ward, 10% of our household income.  We also fast once a month, skipping at least 2 meals, and on that day, we give to the church the money we would have spent on food.  We call it fast offerings. Just a Couple of Days26 Mar 2009 09:36 am

So. Tuesday.  Went something like this:

Blah blah blah morning.  Sneeze a lot.

Eagerly await the mail because my replacement American Express was supposed to arrive today.  Mail comes. No card. Shah. Whatever.  (although losing your card is an excellent way to save money) (more…)

If only my car keys felt the same way22 Mar 2009 09:34 pm

(Warning:  WAY random post ahead, with, um, not much of a point.  So, if you like posts that actually have like a whole message thing goin’ on, you might want to skip it.  But if you like to read about shiny things, please.  Proceed.)

Migraine Musings20 Mar 2009 01:45 pm

Did anyone else wake up to a beautiful day with the sun shining and the birds chirping, with a burning desire to get out your (nonexistent) shotgun and shoot every one of those *$%&!birds?

No?  Just me, then?  I guess you’re all better people than I am. (more…)

Take that Jack Kerouac!20 Mar 2009 09:12 am

We are taking a road trip…the station wagon has been replaced with a mini van; the rugby scrum with the siblings in the back, has been replaced with car seats, iPods and DVD players.  We are off to see grandparents, King Tut and dig for diamonds.  Hopefully I can get a few March Madness games on the old fashioned FM radio!  Happy Spring Break everyone!

Or: Sizing Problems in Children’s Clothing at TARGET

I hate to do this… You know my history with my fickle Love, Target- but this is just too much. The photo above has not been altered. Both items of clothing were smooth and spread out, and nothing is folded or tucked in any way. The waistbands are even at the top left edge. (more…)

Some things don’t bend the way they used to18 Mar 2009 10:09 am

I fell in love with my husband over Plato, Baskin Robbins, and the Battle of Gettysburg.  But that was when I was smart.  Now I’m kinda dumb.

Must…Spew…More…Crap…Into…Cyberspace13 Mar 2009 07:56 pm

OK, I did start a diabetic blog.  I know, I should read to my children.  Here’s the link.  With MMW being on wordpress and the other one on blogger, it kind of confuses my poor wittle brain.  Someone explain the following thing? Can I make that private so I’m not accosted with the fact that I’m a loser every time I log in? Please?  Remember, I’m technologically challenged.  I didn’t use to be, you know.  I just married a computer geek, and he took over from there.
