Or rain right after you get home from having to spend 4 extra days away from home due to a concussion and a cancelled flight. Or actually, not rain at all, more like a hurricane. Yeah, like a hurricane after a concussion. That sounds about right. (more…)

Warning. Airline rant ahead.
Dear Delta-
I am a longtime customer. But after this week, I don’t know if I want to be.
Let me first start by saying from the get go, you knew that my family was in a little bit of a crises. You see, while on vacation, my husband fell and hit his head while ice-skating. I know that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but trust me, it was a big deal. He suffered a concussion bad enough to knock out his immediate and short term memory, and although the memory loss turned out to be temporary, we weren’t at all sure that would be the case. It’s pretty scary to see your husband on a backboard, with a neckbrace on, ready to have a CT scan to rule out spinal cord injuries, and have him ask you 40 times in 2 minutes, “Am I in the hospital? What happened?” (more…)

Yesterday my husband and I celebrated our 15 year anniversary. I could dedicate this post to him, and write all sorts of lovey crap, but hey, he knows how awesome he is. The internet doesn’t need to. (Hey internet - he’s pretty awesome.)
So at our fancypants dinner, the waiter brings an extra with dessert. It’s a little ‘edible banner’ (for lack of a better term), with “happy birthday” on it. He nods to me and tells me they are glad I chose to celebrate my birthday with them. (more…)

Actually, I just walked into the eye doctor’s office. After my eyes turned into huge puddles of ink, were looked into and declared healthy, (whew!) I asked for a scrip for Latisse. I received one, and made a joke about my vanity. (more…)

I have a friend who is struggling with the church. Between shouldering a butthard burden, run-ins with bad bishops, and difficulties within her ward family, she is trying to find her place, wondering if there even is one for her in the church. She told me about how she turned to a friend, telling her story, looking for support.
She got none. (more…)

For some time now (read:years) I’ve intended to post more on this blog. I really did get a kick out of writing my posts. I enjoyed the comments, too. Obviously these intentions have produced nothing but pangs of guilt and a sucking noise where my contributions to this effort would have been.
A few days ago I got an email alerting me to a spam comment on an old post of mine and I didn’t even recognize the title of the post (I wrote what?!). So I clicked the link and alas it was indeed mine. I read it. I even chuckled. And I began to browse the archives. (more…)

I’ve spent the last few minutes deleting the onslaught of spam we received as most of the MMW bloggers are on vacation. This one, however, made me laugh out loud:
“Quite good post. I simply came across your site as well as wanted to say that I’ve actually appreciated exploring your website content. In the end I’ll be registering to your nourish and I hope you create again quickly!”
How does one register to a nourish, exactly? Thoughts?
In other news, we are continuing with family fun and my kids are trashed. You know, same old same old.
