I did it TOO!!25 Mar 2008 11:05 pm

I succumbed to the public pressure of everyone here (and if I’m being honest, I have to say that means no pressure at all) and I opened my own Etsy shop.
I am still a novice at this stuff, so be nice. I’ve made more stuff, some for little kids, but my camera isn’t happy with me right now. Or I’m not happy with it. Anyway, we’re having a little argument, but rest assured, it will all be worked out soon. My camera does not hold grudges.
So, look at my THREE WHOLE LISTINGS, and see what you think. Hey, thanks.

Ooooh! I love the bracelet! Sooo pretty!
Comment #1 by mellocelloMarch 25th, 2008 at 11:13 pmOKay, now I’m sad that I have no money in my budget for that bracelet, but I just want to keep looking at it.
Thanks a lot, Wiz. Oh well, whoever gets it will be super lucky.
Comment #2 by mellocelloMarch 25th, 2008 at 11:17 pmI have an earring fetish. The only problem is that my hair is at a hard length, just an inch or two past the lobes. I LOVE the green and brown earrings, but they wouldn’t show. Can you make longer stuff? I will pay cash, or whatever I have in my purse, which right now is $1, two packs of gum, and almost empty lip gloss. Do we have a deal?
Comment #3 by solMarch 25th, 2008 at 11:28 pmOoooh, pretty! Can’t wait to see what else you put up.
Comment #4 by bythelbsMarch 26th, 2008 at 12:42 amThe link won’t work for me. I get thte 404 not found error. Am I doing something wrong?

I just compulsively started making jewelry and the first necklace I made and wore broke. It’s tricky!
Comment #9 by Susan MMarch 26th, 2008 at 8:30 amCute jewelry. I added your shop to my favorites. Good luck with it!
Comment #10 by EmilyMarch 26th, 2008 at 8:34 amMy shop is http://whimsydaisy.etsy.com/
Yay! Hey, you have three times the stuff up that I do!
Comment #11 by Tracy MMarch 26th, 2008 at 9:05 amCongrats, Wiz! Man, you guys are all so crafty. Or artsy. Not sure which term you prefer, so take the one you like.
Comment #12 by cherylMarch 26th, 2008 at 9:55 amI just got my ears pierced for the first time last year (at 28!), so I’d love to add the Earrings of Awesome-ness to my growing collection. My ears are still pretty sensitive to the metals…what are the posts made of?
Comment #13 by Mother of the Wild BoysMarch 26th, 2008 at 10:24 amLink fixed.
Comment #14 by The WizMarch 26th, 2008 at 5:11 pmIf you are looking for a hot tip on possible inventory, try non-pierced earrings. My dd’s can’t get their ears pierced until they are twelve (I’m a cruel mother) and (short of Claire’s, which is an hour away) we can’t find age appropriate clip-ons.
Comment #15 by NaeMarch 26th, 2008 at 5:18 pmWiz,
On the real, can you make some longer danglies?
Comment #16 by solMarch 26th, 2008 at 10:38 pmHow long do you want?
Comment #17 by The WizMarch 26th, 2008 at 10:55 pmthose are very nice! good luck with the shop.
Comment #18 by beccaMarch 27th, 2008 at 5:35 pmUm, about 2 1/2 inches from the hook. Give or take. And I want them to make me look skinny.
Comment #19 by solMarch 27th, 2008 at 6:34 pmwell Sol I think that most of us want that too. skinny jeans, skinny shirts, skinny shoes, etc. Sell those Wiz and you’ll make a fortune.
Comment #20 by moddyMarch 27th, 2008 at 7:03 pmGreat earrings!
I’m curious…do you stock up on a bunch of finished stuff before you open your shop, or just have one or whatever you have pictures of? Do you make it when people order? I’m batting around the idea of opening a shop…for some income that doesn’t involve 7 year old piano students and my (attention deprived) toddler in the same room!
Comment #21 by Aunt LoLoMarch 30th, 2008 at 7:49 pmI just do one thing, then take a picture of it and put it on there. I’m not great at the pictures, as you can tell. I put new stuff up when I finish it. Some shops have a ton of stuff when they open, some don’t. It’s just up to you.
