That last post is getting pretty vile.  It’s making me gag a little, in fact, so I must post something in order to make it go away.

Ok, so guess what I picked up when I got my son from preschool yesterday?  (I despise guessing games.  I mean, how would you know, really?)  It was a CAP AND GOWN.

I can’t decide if a preschool graduation is the cutest thing ever, or the most ridiculous thing ever.  There’s no middle ground, really, and I keep going back and forth.

He loved his cap and gown and was thrilled to have a new hat and “raincoat”.  Then we went to a local elementary school and watched a bunch of four year olds in “raincoats” stand up at the wrong time and look around confusedly.  Then we ate cake.  After all, nothing says ‘Time for kindergarten’ like a little cake.

As an extra bonus, I now have a tassle that says ‘2008′ and I can hang it in my car and pretend I’m the right age to have just graduated from college.

As a bummer, I now have two girls who are demanding to see pictures from their preschool graduation, an event which only happened in their minds.

Bonus:  He has a “diploma” which was handed to him, all curled up and tied with a ribbon, which helps him see far away, and no amount of shouting “it’s not a telescope!” from older sisters can deter him from reaching for the stars.

Bummer:  I don’t know how to put a survey on the blog to have you vote yay/nay on the whole ‘Preschool Promotion’ idea.  Please comment anyway.
