There was a stretch of road near my house growing up that had several speed signs with strange numbers like this. That stretch of road was windy and had been the site of many bad accidents. I was told that the city council did that to get people’s attention, with the hope that they then would be more likely to slow down. I don’t know if that’s true, but nobody pays attention to regular speed limit signs, so the theory seems plausible at least.
Perhaps it means go a little under the speed limit instead of a little over the speed limit. I tend to go about two or three miles over the speed limit myself.
Julie M. Smith - that’s exactly what I was going to say! It’s been a LOOOONG time since I’ve been to that temple, I was wondering if it had changed or not.
My guess is it is in kilometers per hour which is then equivalent to 15 MPH. They converted it and then were to dumb to drop the 1/2
