Nems is a magical place. It has 200 rock climbing walls. There are as many dogs as you want. It’s very accomodating, adjusting to fit your needs as they develop. Plus roller coasters. Lots and lots of roller coasters.
Miego the horse told my son all about Nems. Miego is Little Man’s imaginary friend, and Nems is the imaginary world that he is going to drive to when he is 16. Little Man asked me once if I knew how to get to Nems. I did not. He was a little distressed, until…Light Bulb!! “That’s OK, the TomTom knows!” and he was happy once more. (TomTom=gps system=lifesaving device for the directionally impaired)
He often draws pictures of Nems, and asked me once if I wanted to go there. I said sure, because hey, it sounds like quite the place. He wasn’t sure if grown-ups were allowed, only 16 year olds. But then he learned it was for grown-ups AND big kids, so we’re good. But he has to drive. That part is very, very important. The love affair with all things automotive is strong in this one.
Mom doesn’t let you help paint her bedroom because you’re only 5? Nems has lots of rooms that need painting. You’re not eating chicken nuggets for dinner every day of your life? There are SO SO MANY chicken nuggets in Nems.
I’m happy Miego told him about it. Nems is a huge part of his life right now and he would be very sad to see it go. When Miego and Nems DO eventually go the way of the dodo, I think I’ll have a harder time with it than he does, because I am clearly a freak who grows attached to other people’s imaginary friends.
