Can I just say that I think crawfish are really strange looking creatures? I mean, I don’t look at them and go mmmm…..tasty. But I know a lot of people do, and hey, I’ve never actually tried them, so I can’t say if they’re really tasty or not. But they are weird looking little bugs.
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!NOT MY FABIO!!!!!!!!!! Whew. Had to get it in under the “more” tag. I mean, the man has to take care of his sick mother in Italy, which sounds like a line straight out of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” but still. I don’t mean to say that they should take back stories into consideration (I mean, hey, this isn’t American Idol) and I understand his dished weren’t the best of the night, but, but, but……the accent!!! You mean I have to watch a finale with no accent??!! Ah, Team Euro. How I loved thee. However, I have a feeling Fabio’s restaurant is going to do very well for a very long time, I’m not too worried about him.
On a side note that has nothing to do with anything, how stunning was Padma in her gown?
It was a fun twist on the quickfire - having eliminated contestants compete for a spot. Go surfer boy -you impressed Emeril immensely. I just wish they had kept Jeff around and sent Hosea home, but not really for the food, just because I like Jeff better. Nobody called me and asked me, though, something at which I take very personal offense.
Hey, gumbo expert people - is the color of the roux really that important? It has to be dark, every time?
I am now 100% behind Carla. I wasn’t really rooting for anyone before, (including Fabio, I mean, I loved him of course, but I would have been OK if he didn’t win), but now I am getting out the “Carla must win” paraphenalia. (You know, in my heart. No actual paraphenalia exists.) She is my hero. I think she’s going to win the whole thing just because the judges are going to remember how awesome her peas were last week. Her oyster stew looked amazing, and it made it even more gratifying to watch the judges love all over it because we saw how hard she worked to get the oysters shucked. A non alcoholic cocktail - brave. She started out weak and became strong, and I love her for it, and I think she has a real chance. The momentum is on her side, it seems the bloom is fading off the Stefan rose.
Note to self - judges do not like a bad attitude. Ok, when I’m on the show, I’ll remember that one.
Have I mentioned that Padma was gorgeousness personified?
In conclusion, I’m still not sure I will ever eat a mudbug.
