So. Tuesday. Went something like this:
Blah blah blah morning. Sneeze a lot.
Lunch. Went to get my hair cut. Gal could not take me - too busy. Shah. Whatever.
Try to go grocery shopping. Too tired to get out of the car. Recognize this is a problem, check my blood sugar. Yeah. WAAYYY high. Swear.
Go home, start walking a lot to lower sugar levels, begin cleaning disaster area that is my home.
Kids come home, grab a snack, and run outside. Am bitter because they are not cleaning. Consider forcing them into submission.
Doorbell rings. (not 5 seconds later, people). Neighbor girls, who were clearly watching to see when the kids would arrive. Consider not letting them in. Let them in because it’s not their fault I am in a bad mood. Keep mumbling under my breath because of said bad mood. Recognize that I am being irrational. Don’t care. AT. ALL.
Neighbor girl and daughter start practicing recorder. Consider blowing up the house.
Neighbor girl knocks over her water that she had placed on the piano, spilling it into the keys. Piano is digital. Piano no workie. Piano not free. Mommy mad.
Spend 20 minutes looking for my flute. Can’t find it. Freak out a little.
Doorbell rings. Assume it is my flute student and open it, letting the dog out. Is not flute student. Is UPS man. Dog barks and chases a little. Man not happy. Mommy mad. Is my fault. How hard is it to look out the peephole, anyway? Dog comes back quickly. Dog obedient.
Package is new credit card. Oh happy day. Now I can go to Costco.
Flute student arrives. Mother of said student hands me my flute that was sitting on the chair. Feel sheepish. Try piano. Still broken. Freak out a little.
Ate hot dogs for dinner because the grocery trip didn’t happen. The end.
Wednesday - piano works!!! Yay! Now I don’t have to kill anybody. Take a claritin and the sneezing and the blood sugar wackiness goes away. Score. After Curves (which is kind of the perfect workout for a diabetic, 30 minutes at a time is what you need unless you want a snack in the middle) I come home to find the new Fablehaven book waiting. Yes! My daughter will be so happy, plus I like them too. Come inside to grab my new card to take to Costco, but alas, the card is not to be found. The card that arrived the day before. The card I have been waiting for. Is now lost again. Even still, a much better day.
