My New Favorite Show20 Apr 2009 12:30 pm

My favorite part of last week -
“Do you want some advice?”
“Yes!”
“Then I suggest you start a blog with an interactive comments section.”
(And if you can’t read the first one, it says ‘I believe the appropriate metaphor here involves a river of excrement and a native american water vessel without any means of propulsion.’ Awesome. Oh Sheldon, my moonpie.)
The last one was for my engineer husband. Smooches, babe.

OMG! This is the best show ever! My husband just bought the first Season on DVD three days ago and we’re already through the first two disks of it! I ♥ Sheldon so much!
Comment #1 by Untypically JiaApril 20th, 2009 at 12:39 pmI love Sheldon too. That is a funny show.
Comment #2 by CassiBApril 20th, 2009 at 12:55 pmBig fan here. Destination viewing at our house. I want MONTE.
Comment #3 by Chad TooApril 20th, 2009 at 1:45 pmI Love this show!
Comment #4 by Ian M. CookApril 20th, 2009 at 2:44 pmMy soon-to-be missionary son probably will have withdrawal pains. That show is hilarious.
Comment #5 by RayApril 20th, 2009 at 2:45 pmThe casting on Big Bang? Brilliant.
Comment #6 by KellyApril 20th, 2009 at 4:16 pmWhat show? I have no idea…
Comment #7 by Tracy MApril 20th, 2009 at 4:29 pmWhat’s a moonpie, and why is Sheldon yours?
Comment #8 by Heather O.April 20th, 2009 at 4:34 pmI’m with Tracy, what show? I must live on the moon.
Comment #9 by Melissa McApril 20th, 2009 at 4:35 pmIt’s called Big Bang Theory (right?) I’ve only seen it once, when the Wiz made me watch it.
Comment #10 by Heather O.April 20th, 2009 at 4:53 pmI actually just started watching this show recently too, and I love it.
Comment #11 by VadaApril 20th, 2009 at 5:07 pmOh, and the blog comment last week had me totally cracking up as well.
Comment #12 by VadaApril 20th, 2009 at 5:07 pmI had no idea which show either. I was starting to get that older than dirt feeling that I get a lot of times when I come here.
I’m really glad I found the answer to my question in the comments.
Now to go out and make sure Reed doesn’t shred his foot while roto-tilling
Comment #13 by Tammy and ParkerApril 20th, 2009 at 6:11 pmWe love The Big Bang, too! I married into a family of Physicists so this show is sacred in our house. Even though we hate the canned laugh track, we’re usually laughing right along with the audience. Some of the show has been a Roseanne reunion (Darlene, Darlene’s boyfriend, and Roseanne’s sister come to mind.) I usually get the science jokes, but my husband laughs uproariously at the most minuscule references to so-and-so’s law and that-guy’s theorem. Apparently the writing on the show is spot on. He also loves that the scientists (besides Sheldon) are normal nice guys…not the arrogant, above-it-all nerds that you usually see on TV shows.
Comment #14 by Jessie T.April 20th, 2009 at 9:25 pmSheldon’s nickname is moonpie, as given to him by his grammie. (nana? Some endearment for grandmother.)
Sorry, I meant to put Big Bang Theory in the title. Whoops. Monday nights. Funniest show on TV - hands down. (Watch, now next week they’ll have something completely awful, and I’ll be embarrassed for endorsing it.)
Comment #15 by The WizApril 20th, 2009 at 9:47 pmI love the Big Bang Theory. My husband is also a physicist and just cracks up at the show. I laugh because its funny. He laughs because he actually understands the jokes.
Comment #16 by TiffanyApril 21st, 2009 at 5:30 amI love it too!! Such sarcasm! Joe wouldn’t watch it- said it was dumb, but slowly he is loving it. Me, it’s better each time. Makes me feel better about being nuerotic.
Comment #17 by MelApril 21st, 2009 at 6:06 amI’ve caught it a couple times and thought it was pretty good for a sitcom. (I fear Arrested Development has ruined all sitcoms for me—there’s just no comparison!)
Although there’s another one I caught a couple times that I thought was pretty good—I think it’s only in syndication now. I think it’s called Still Standing?
Comment #18 by Susan MApril 21st, 2009 at 9:33 amI SOOOO wish I could watch it online…. too bad the cable is no longer now that we moved *cry*
Comment #19 by AprilliumApril 21st, 2009 at 9:01 pmI love love love this show. And it is all so true, I knew many guys like them in the Aero Engineering department at Cal Poly. My husband regularly gives me knowing looks all through the show
“I prefer to have George Lucas disappoint me in the order he intended” -Sheldon
Comment #20 by JulieApril 21st, 2009 at 10:08 pmI just caught the tail-end of it but the actor who plays Sheldon is on the View today. It’s too late for me, but those of you in the Mountain and Pacific zones have time to set up the TIVO.
Comment #21 by Chad TooApril 23rd, 2009 at 8:57 amDanger! Danger!
Comment #22 by JFernPApril 30th, 2009 at 3:20 pmI love this show too. You can watch clips on the show’s website (CBS won’t show full episodes though it does for other shows–pooh on them). And someone uploaded the first season on Youtube (each episode is in 3 parts).
In reply to Comment #15: “Nobody calls me Moonpie except Mema.” If you want a great 8 minute laugh check out Sheldon’s Christmas Miracle on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4G3KItej-Ms
Comment #23 by JFernPMay 2nd, 2009 at 6:16 pmFunniest show on TV! We have the first season on DVD and we get everyone we know hooked on it!!! It has turned from the Leonard and Penny show into the Sheldon and Penny show. We laugh our heads off and every time it ends I tell my husband that it isnt nearly long enough!
