Seriously, I bought some yesterday. They are almost gone. After I opened the box last night for a quick dinner before J’s swim meet, I then had a Hostess cupcake and Dr. Pepper chaser. For about 30 minutes, I was quite pleased with the world.
2 hours later, with a blinding headache and a stomachache to match, I was less than pleased. Also, I picked that particularly low blood sugar moment to start doing my bills online, which pretty much sealed the grouchy Momma deal.
2 hours after that, I wondered aloud to my husband why I felt like crap. Nose in a book, he barely bothered to look up as he said, “Poptarts for dinner, babe. Need I say more?”
So I decided to fix my problem by eating a bowl of Rice Krispies. A few bites of the good ‘ol Snap Crackle Pop, and I was all good. I didn’t even put chocolate milk in it or anything. Totally nutritious.
But for some reason, I was a bit sluggish getting out of bed this morning. In fact, I was awakened at 8:40 by my son waving his goggles in my face yelling, “It’s time for swim practice, mom!” I fortified myself with some more Snap Crackle Pop, and went about my day.
The crash hit me earlier than I expected, and I was forced to eat some fresh grape tomatoes right off the vine from our garden. Bright red, warm from the sun…mmmm… perfect.
Loralei Gilmore would be highly disappointed in me.
Perhaps I should start watching the Food Channel instead.
