Off We Go22 Oct 2009 02:09 pm

I’m off to get infused with experimental drugs again. I am soaking up the last bit of sunshine before I descend into 50 degree weather.
Since the last time, my insulin dose is close to half of what it was. My C-peptide levels are up. These are good things.
So help me out and throw a prayer or two my way, especially for my family, and that we all stay healthy and strong (the flu, for example, would be disastrous.) So think healthy thoughts, send healthy vibes, and PRAY.
Thanks.

All the best wishes and prayers!
Comment #1 by JessicaOctober 22nd, 2009 at 3:29 pmFrom a fellow Arizona resident to another: I hope you don’t freeze in Utah. 50 degrees is cold! BRRRR! (Growing up in Utah, I thought 60 degrees was “shorts” weather. Arizona does weird things to you.)
Good luck with everything!

Comment #5 by mitsyOctober 22nd, 2009 at 11:05 pmStay healthy - Mr. 13yr old in my house is down hard with the flu. Lots of Vitamin C and washing of hands over here. You’re in our prayers!
Comment #6 by wbprawOctober 23rd, 2009 at 11:23 amPS Are we done ranting about Project Runway and Top Chef? ‘Cause dang that Christopher has to go and what a fantastic Restaurant Wars!!! Ok, I got it out of my system - have a great trip!
Comment #7 by wbprawOctober 23rd, 2009 at 11:25 amCan we thread jack here and start talking about Top Chef anyway??
Comment #8 by Melissa McOctober 23rd, 2009 at 12:29 pmBest of luck Wiz!!
Melissa - I say we can! What do you think Bryan and Michael’s home life was like? They are none too happy, but dang can they cook! Top 3: Brothers V and Kevin. Sooo glad Lorene’s gone - next bye bye Robin. Time to get down to the nitty gritty!!
Comment #9 by wbprawOctober 23rd, 2009 at 3:43 pmOkay, I’ll bite on the threadjack too. Didn’t you want to just reach out and hug Jen? She knew her fish wasn’t up to her well-taught Eric Ripert standards. I was sooo glad they didn’t send her home for that.
Bryan and Michael have issues or this is just a fantastic piece of editing. I think it’s the former.
And the next challenge looks similar to the Zooey Deschanel challege during Top Chef Masters. Should be interesting!
Comment #10 by ZinkaOctober 23rd, 2009 at 5:29 pmJust the clips of Jen cutting/butchering/filleting the fish looked awful! Like they had to die TWICE!
I’m SOOOO glad they didn’t send her home.
In spite of the name REVOLT — their food looked awesome! Can you imagine what they felt like when Tom said, “You are the best restaurant team in 6 seasons.”
How are they going to choose??????
Comment #11 by Melissa McOctober 23rd, 2009 at 6:38 pmPertaining to the original topic:
Good luck in Utah! Don’t freeze up there! Hopefully the drugs keep working and hopefully you survive being away from your family for another long trip.
Pertaining to the thread jack:
The winning team did amazing! I think the only negative thing anybody mentioned was the cold meat and potatoes dish of Brian’s (I think?). I was pleased they broke the “do dessert during Restaurant Wars and go home” streak.
The losing team was so hard to watch. I think if they’d sent Mike to do front of the house and had split up who was doing what a little better (rather than each person being totally in charge of both dishes for a single course), they’d probably have done fine. Jen and Kevin both very unexpectedly crashed, I am unendingly glad neither of them got sent home for it. Hopefully it was just an off week and they both do better next week.

That will be my mantra.
Wow. Will say a real prayer, too. I’m sorry you’re going through much suckiness. And I hope life continues its current uphill trend, and you get all the way better sometime in the very near future.
Comment #15 by nosurfgirlNovember 3rd, 2009 at 8:24 amI’m sorry, just not going to feel sympathy for anyone stressing 50 degree weather. I grew up on the wind-swept and barren flats of Wyoming, walking to school in a dress. (up hill, both ways.) Now I’m in Colorado where if it stays above 0 I have to be happy. I love you all, and wish you well, but the 50 degrees part… Tthththpppp! LOL
