I have been reading “The Little Princess” to Little Sister, mostly because my mother read it to me, and it’s an awesome story (still makes me tear up a little bit at the end). It got me thinking about other books my mother read to me, and that got me thinking about the book, “Heidi”. I had totally forgotten about it. That got me looking up “Heidi” on my Kindle, to see if I could read it for free (I can, and I even got the German version so I can pretend that I still speak German), and THAT got me looking on Netflix for versions of “Heidi” to watch while I fold laundry. And here I am, posting about it all.
See, when I do laundry, I have to watch TV while I fold it. And when I clean my house, I find I do better if I listen to music while I do it (I’ve already gone over how I’m not much of a music listener–DH is constantly surprised when he comes home and I’m listening to music. Inevitably, it’s when I am cleaning. Sometimes I wonder if he’s less surprised at the music and more surprised at the cleaning). So today, I watched “Heidi” while I folded, and yesterday, I listened to Harry Connick Jr’s “We are in love” CD while I swept the floor and wiped down the counters, which made me crazy happy.
So, what I’m REALLY blogging about is to ask you what your go to housekeeping music (or movie) is. Tell me what motivates you to clean or to fold (or if you do something different while accomplishing these tasks, let me know, too. DH tends to listen to audio books when he cleans. i think that’s why he’s kinda smarter than I am).
Give it to me, ladies. I’m looking for the perfect folding show, and the perfect song to really get my mop a’movin’.
