Yup, I’m still talking about my computer.
I am currently blogging from my DH’s office, as all is fairly quiet over here, because our computer is moaning in pain. The worms and viruses have multiplied within it, probably programmed to do so every time we type the letter “e”, or something hideous like that. We finally found a “doctor” for it, who said he’s seen worse. Great. Thanks. We hope to have it up and running again soon. We don’t just want to trash it, as the doctor initially suggested (yeah, always encouraging when a computer geek tells you you’re better off starting over) because it’s a fairly new computer, and we’d rather not spend the money on a new one three days after Christmas, thank you very much. We need time to let those credit cards cool off, if you know what I mean.
I have so much to tell y’all (Yes, I’m allowed to say that!), including posting pictures of the BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER, which happens to be an original child’s chess table painted by none other than the great Tracy M herself. Yup, she and The Wiz took pity on my demonic possession and conspired together to grace my playroom with what is without doubt the coolest piece of art ever. When our computer is up and running, I will definitely post pictures. If ever you doubted Tracy’s talent before, this table will make you a true believer. Not that I ever doubted it, I’m just now overwhelmingly impressed! Thanks, you guys.
We’ll keep you posted.

Computer geeks are always looking for an excuse to trash the old computer, because getting a new computer means getting an *upgraded* computer- and who doesn’t want that?
Comment #1 by StarfoxyDecember 28th, 2006 at 6:05 pmOH neat. I can’t wait to see it.
I love things like that.
Comment #2 by Lisa MDecember 28th, 2006 at 7:21 pmThe table that is, of course, not the sicky computer!
Comment #3 by Lisa MDecember 28th, 2006 at 7:22 pmGlad to hear your computer is fixable!
I can’t wait to see your new table. Tracy and the Wiz are awesome!
Comment #4 by GingerDecember 28th, 2006 at 7:54 pmSad about the computer. But so happy about the table. And you didn’t have to pay $400! Yaa!
Comment #5 by NikkiDecember 28th, 2006 at 10:52 pmShe’s exagerating… But I’m really glad she liked it!
Comment #6 by Tracy MDecember 28th, 2006 at 11:51 pmTwo best things I did were Norton and putting my child on a computer I can reboot and reformat from a CD. Every time the viruses, etc. get past AOL’s firewall and Norton (AOL is now free if you have any sort of non-dial-up connection) I just stick in the CD and start it back up.
Comment #7 by Stephen M (Ethesis)December 29th, 2006 at 12:15 amThe best thing I ever did was pay for an internet firewall and virus scanner. It zapped everything in our system and we’ve had no problems since(except for still being dial up).
Comment #8 by mo mommyDecember 29th, 2006 at 2:13 amTracy showed me pics when she sent it and I was so excited to see if you liked it! I was sure you would, it’s gorgeous!!!
Or get a Mac. We’ve had ours hooked-up to the internet without a firewall or anti-virus software for three years now, and we’ve never had a problem as most viruses are written for PCs. But we’re also really careful about what we download and open in email.
Comment #9 by Jona Tres TuftDecember 29th, 2006 at 12:19 pmOh, yes. I totally rock. My part included clicking on the keyboard, sending the table straight to Tracy’s house. It was sooo equal to actually painting the table.
Comment #10 by The WizDecember 29th, 2006 at 3:37 pmI tell you, Tracy just keeps getting better. And the best part is that I don’t resent her for it one bit!
