Just in case you hadn’t heard, there is recall on Peter Pan and Great Value Peanut Butter with the lot number “2111″, due to salmonella. I tell you this because some people in our ward have gotten sick, and it occurred to me that some people might not know. For more info, go here: http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2007/NEW01563.html. I had no idea that you could get salmonella from peanutbutter, but, there you go.

I didn’t mind the excuse to give up spinach — but peanut butter? What’s happening to the world!

Comment #2 by Heather O.February 19th, 2007 at 3:48 pmI’ve had a hard time with peanut butter ever since my BYU Social Statistics course where the professor used “percentage of rat ground up in the peanut butter” as his standing example all year in any equation. But salmonella is a lot more scary since people actually die of it. Rat is just gross. Needless to say, I won’t be rushing out to buy any this week. Thanks for the tip.

Comment #4 by Heather O.February 20th, 2007 at 12:00 pmIt’s the way math teachers try to garner interest in their subject. Things like that keep students awake - especially if they packed peanut butter for their lunch.
