This is a basic post to say, Dove chocolate eggs good, Peeps baaadd.Apparently, I am not nearly as concerned as Heather is about healthful food for my children, since I am going to give them candy for Easter. (On a side note, my 6 year old asked if we go to church on Easter. Um….YES!!!)
But I have my standards. Nasty, marshmallow-ish, weird cyber-looking “ducks” are not now, nor will they ever be, part of our Easter traditions. I’m pretty sure Peeps are evidence that there is life on other planets, but not any life I want to deal with.
Give me good old Dove chocolate, made on earth.
This year, I will not shop too late for candy, and get some jelly beans, which somehow always make it into this house for Easter, and never at any other time. Jelly bellies are kind of freakish, in my book, since people have to sit and pick them out, and run their hand through the whole jar just to avoid the ‘buttered popcorn’ flavor, or to somehow combine them in different ‘recipes’ and the whole thing is just bizarre. Hand in jar, candy in hand, candy to mouth. None of this putting all your germs all over everybody else’s candy just to ‘make’ a ’smoothie’. So weird. I’m just sure there will be a cilantro flaovred one in there someday. *shudder*
I also love Starbursts. But not the new flavors. I’m a Starburst purist.
Favorite Easter candy? Worst Easter candy?
