I’m a beehive, and Abby is a bee. The boys are chanelling their inner violence, and are a ninja and Wolverine. Should be some sugar-induced madness and insanity all around.
I was going to stay home while DH took the monsters (literally) trick-or-treating but have decided that I’ll put the candy out on the porch while we’re gone. And then we’re watching Ghost Hunters while the kids get high on their sugar!
B will be a zombie. H is a dementor. Z is Cinderella - we’ll see if she wants dead make-up or not. P will be a frog. I’ve got a witch’s hat that I’ll wear…
I can’t wait for Ghost Hunters, though.
Tracy M–crazy! I, too, am going as a beehive–with my hair pulled into braids and pinned into a beehive shape. And my oldest is going to be a beehive, my girlie a ladybug, and my baby a caterpillar. Wild.
We have a Darth Mal/Grim Reaper. I say / because his face is painted like Darth Mal but he’s carring a syth- the thing the Grim Reaper carries, and he’s wearing a black robe with a hood.
We also have a Ninja Turtle and Batman.
The baby is a pumpkin.
We had a Superman and an astronaut. Didn’t go trick or treating except at home. DH and I took turns hiding in our bedroom and giving our sons candy they had already received from other people. Everyone had a good time:)
My 18-month old son was a tiger, thanks to a $5 bargain at Deseret Industries. Me? I was a tired mother of a toddler. And I was pretty darn convincing.
Mmmm…Darth Mal, sewing husbands, warring bee factions, Ghost Hunters, sounds like everyone did the holiday up right!
My two year old was Charlie Chaplin and my 6 month old was King Kong carrying a glamorous Barbie doll. I was dressed up like the Chrysler building and carried her around on my hip all night. Fun stuff. Husband, as usual, was a party pooper.
DH dressed up as a clown –an amazing, thought-I-was-at-the-circus clown. #1 was a medieval princess; #2 was a “purple” princess; #3 was a Pirate-Vampire (who refused any make-up or hat); #4 was a cute clown like his dad (although only in costume –he’s only 9 months old!). I was a Hippie for 2/3rds of the day. The other 1/3 I was a Dead Prom Queen. I pretty much changed my Halloween costume 4 times today –I had an Elementary School party to help with, and I was the dead lady for that, but I wanted to be comfortable for the party we had with friends tonight. For some reason, I have a lot of 60’s clothing (thank you to my mom!).
Anyway, it was fun. I never used to care about costumes, but now I’m starting to think this could become something really fun –choosing great costumes every year!
I had a Jo Jo the Clown (cutest costumer EVER - I highly recommend it - Disney website!) and my newborn was Eeyore. I LOVE seeing the kids dressed up. DH hates Halloween, so I have not dressed up in a while. Next year, look out!
LOVE the pumpkin, BTW. I think President Hinckley has a fun sense of humore and would likely get a kick out of that.
our 7mo was a cow, our 2yo was a chicken, our 4yo was a farmer, my husband was a pig, and i was also a cow, complete with homemade udder purse. now i have outed myself to everyone in our ward…
The boy went as “Captain Scurvy” the pirate and baby girl was the “Oh so preeeteee” princess. They got a ton of candy. The boy’s school had a Spooktacular carnival, then they went to a party at the day care, then we went to Boo at the Zoo, then we did Trunk or Treat, and then the husband took the boy around the neighborhood while baby girl and I stayed home and watched our favorite Halloween cartoons and answered the door.
I have a donut hangover because I used my free donut coupons at the grocery store and got a dozen of the yummy glazed temptations and lets just say that when the husband and the boy got back from Trick or Treating, there was more like 1/2 a dozen left. Maybe less. I can’t really remember. Ask my thighs though, they might know. And I have no idea why all the Kit Kats were missing from the goodie bowl. Honest.
DS went as a firefighter (last years costume, but he wanted to wear it again, yeah) DD was “baby jaguar ” from Diego. I went as what I can now see was a popular costume, a tired worn out mommy. DH was dressed as the Fed Ex guy (didn’t change out of his work clothes) to hand out candy.
In all we had a great night, lots of fun.
we planned to do the African Safari - Me in safari getup complete with binoculars, Hubby as a giant lion and baby as Zebra, but hubby decided to go as the “I’m thinkin’ Arby’s guy instead”

We had a princess, a cheerleader, and a Thomas the Train. I went as a mom who is sick of dressing up kids.
Comment #8 by SueOctober 31st, 2007 at 5:09 pmMy daughter went as Supergirl and my son was Robin. My husband is a comic book geek and made their costumes. He’s much more crafty than I am…
