After partying all week with the fam, we have finally returned home.
My family is trashed.
Yesterday J was rummaging through our as yet unpacked suitcase, and came across the presents that, after seeing the haul he was getting from his grandparents, we had decided to hold back for his birthday in a few months.
So much for that plan.
And may I say that getting a kajillion Christmas cards trickling into the house during the season is delightful. Having to slog through them in a giant pile you receive with all the other crap that piled up in your “hold mail” box during your absence–not so much.
My tree and lights look a little pathetic in the after Christmas glow, but I just can’t muster the energy to take them down. Not quite yet.
I always say I’m going to face the New Year with a fresh perspective, and some years I even manage to write down some new goals. Once, I even posted them on the fridge. Go me.
But mostly, I face the New Year feeling travel weary, stuff heavy, and bleary eyed. And I don’t even drink.
Any ideas to jumpstart a mom out of the post holiday blahs?
Oh, and word to the wise. If you are leaving town for 10 days, yes, it IS worth the time to clean out your fridge. Don’t ask me how I know this. Trust me. I know.
